In this episode, we’re talking about well, everything. A lot of what we’ve discussed here on the Creature Files relates to cryptids and mythical creatures, but many times our explorations into this subject veer into other areas of what we would call the paranormal. Mothman for example is considered less a cryptid than some sort of paranormal creature. There are examples of bigfoot sightings that seem to have a UFO-like aspect to them. And as we discussed with Steve Ward in episode eight, there are a lot of connections between folklore and the paranormal.

Steve's example was the stories of the faerie folk in Celtic folklore that are similar to alien abductions. People losing time and being brought into the faerie realm…Not that much different than people claiming to have been brought onto a ship and losing hours they can’t account for. We also know that the paranormal figures very prominently in folklore around the world. Not only does it have creatures of myth, but it has ghosts, spectres, witches, and undead monsters. Consider the barghests and hellhounds, often described as apparitions and mythical creatures. Japanese and Chinese folklore also has a lot of crossover with regard to ghosts and mythology. All over the world, we see a lot of examples of creatures that are both mythically flesh and blood and also perhaps from another realm entirely.

In other words, there seems to be a nexus of sorts when studying this kind of phenomena. And if you want to learn about all things paranormal, our next guest has been doing his best to get the word out through his website “ufoinsight.com.” Marcus Lowth is the chief editor of the site and it is an incredible reference source for articles that run the gamut of all things paranormal. Marcus has a love for UFOs, aliens, and the Ancient Astronaut Theory, as well as the paranormal, general conspiracies and unsolved mysteries. He has been writing and researching for over 20 years. And he regularly appears as an expert on radio talk shows including Troubled Minds and Unexplained Radio discussing these topics.
